This camp is open for EVERYONE | Players outside of the club and current FC 1974 players!

This program is geared towards Player Development & High-Performance campers. Players will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. A great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. With a number of different camp options for all to enjoy!

Skill Levels

Player Development is for campers ages 11 and under of all skill levels. These camps are designed to maximize player participation and ensure each camper develops in all aspects of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Coaches will implement a wide range of technical, physical, and tactical activities with a focus on fun so campers get to improve with a smile on their faces.
High Performance is for campers ages 12+ looking to improve their game in a fun and fast-paced environment. These camps are designed so players leave the camp week more prepared for their club and high school seasons. Experienced coaches will provide campers with a fresh perspective and challenge them to develop technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of their game through a progressive curriculum.

What's Included?

  • Instruction: Training from the HORIZON SOCCER coaching staff
  • Day campers: Lunch is provided
  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

Instruction, Equipment & Facility

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
  • Facility: Libertyville Township Soccer Complex
  • Medical Protocol: We will have athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

Igor Jankovic

UEFA Grow Mentor

Igor has twenty years of experience developing soccer at local, national and international levels. He was formerly Head of Development at the Serbian Football Association for 8 years and founded The Serbian Youth Soccer League from where the majority of players came for a Serbian National Team to win the UEFA Under 19 Championship, the 2015 FIFA under 20 World Cup and also from where a large number of players have graduated to the current 2019-20 Senior Serbian National Team. Igor holds the UEFA A license and has the Executive Masters degree in Sports Management.

Srgjan Smileski

DOC FC 1974 U13-U19 Boys and Girls

Srgjan has been working in Youth Soccer 15 years . After finishing his professional and college soccer career he started coaching at multiple levels. He was DOC at Raiders FC for 6 years where the club won multiple US Youth National Titles. After that he became DOC at FC1974 where he is currently working. Under his guideline this club became one of the clubs that is leading in player development in the Region II. Srgjan holds National B Licence, National Youth Licence and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma.

Aleksandar Milenovic

UEFA Futsal Coordinator

Aleksandar played professional soccer in Serbia and internationally. After a successful career he transitioned from playing soccer to coaching soccer. At present he is managing one of the most sought after soccer academies in Serbia where he is also a personal coach for some of the nation’s most talented players. Aleksandar is also a scout for the South-East Balkan region and holds the UEFA B Futsal license.
